NAWAPA
Humankind’s harmony with nature is his ability to raise it to higher and higher levels of organization, and consequently our actions harmonize nature’s ability to be raised to higher and higher levels by man. This brings our species closer to completely managing the biosphere as a whole, increasingly giving us the power and ability to leave this planet in search of taking our graceful art of Bioengineering to remote distances. NAWAPA will be our first step in accomplishing that goal.

NAWAPA'S Continental Implications
September 28th, 2010
By utilizing the natural topographical and climatological features of the north American land mass for mankind's engineering of an improved environment, NAWAPA embodies planetary development. However, beyond the scope of the NAWAPA system itself, when we look at the full implementation and construction of the NAWAPA system, including the logistical support and needed supply lines, the management of resources in related areas, and new continental scientific studies, the need for this approach to economy stands out in full.

LaRouche Plan, Infrastructure
The true implications of the NAWAPA project is to be discussed in the July 28th, 2010 addition of LPAC'S weekly show. The issue is that man must view economics with a completely revolutionary approach, an approach which has been the unique skill of Lyndon LaRouche for the past decades, till today.

The Banking Act of 1933 was a law that established the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the United States and introduced banking reforms, some of which were designed to control speculation. It is most commonly known as the Glass–Steagall Act, after its legislative sponsors, Carter Glass and Henry B. Steagall.

Some provisions of the Act, such as Regulation Q, which allowed the Federal Reserve to regulate interest rates in savings accounts, were repealed by the Depository Institutions Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980. Provisions that prohibit a bank holding company from owning other financial companies were repealed on November 12, 1999, by the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act.

The repeal of the Glass–Steagall Act of 1933 effectively removed the separation that previously existed between Wall Street investment banks and depository banks and has been blamed by some[who?] for exacerbating the damage caused by the collapse of the subprime mortgage market that led to the Financial crisis of 2007–2010. The potential to make enormous profits trading mortgage-backed securities with artificially high ratings encouraged banks to take on otherwise intolerable risk in the form of bad loans. The ease with which people were obtaining home loans contributed to an artificial housing boom and exacerbated the inevitable decline.

The Science of Glass-Steagall

The matter of Glass-Steagall far exceeds any mere discussion of money, or even re-organizing the banking system. Glass-Steagall gets directly at the substance of mankind's ability to willfully exert his creative powers over the universe to increase his ability to exist. Indeed this is the basis for understanding economic value. Here we take the case of Iron Ore deposits and the oxygen crisis as a pedagogical case in point.

The Takedown of Glass-Steagall
September 8th, 2010 • 1:00 AM

If the Democratic Party wishes to survive, it must cease being the party of Barney Frank and Barack Obama. In order to restore its legacy as the party of Franklin Roosevelt, it must, immediately, boldly, and unequivocally, move for the reinstatement of the full and complete 1933 Glass-Steagall legislation, in direct opposition to Barack Obama. Only Barack Obama's immediate forced resignation from the Office of President, can insure the survival of the United States, and the restoration of Franklin Roosevelt's dream.

LaRouche Plan, Economic Collapse, Editorial Statements
Under Glass Steagall the U.S. government can utter credit to the newly cleansed commercial banks which can then act as agents of lending on behalf of the needed recovery, which means not only repairing and reconstructing our existing infrastructure, but investing in new, large scale infrastructure projects. These projects include the repair of our poor and decrepit national water infrastructure, new construction of over 42,000 miles of magnetic levitation rail, and a return to plans for a manned Mars mission for the purposes of colonization.
